Charles W. “Chuck” Smithers, Jr., CPA/CGMA is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant who has spent most of his professional career in the not-for-profit and health care industries. Although now partially retired, Chuck continues to be involved in the health care policy and finance arena as an independent consultant.

Concurrent with his career he has made a point of being involved in volunteer work with a number of not-for-profit organizations, most recently with:

· Shepherd’s Center of America (Treasurer and Board Member),

· Shepherd’s Center of Orange Park (Treasurer and Board Member),

· The Clothes Closet and Food Pantry of Orange Park (Chairperson of the Board),

· Anointed Communities in Transformation (Treasurer and Board Member), and

· Buckman Bridge Unitarian Universalist Church (President of the Board).

Formerly:

· Heart for Orphans First (Chief Financial Officer and financial advisor to the Board),

· James Boys of Orange Park (financial consultant and grant writer),

· Endowment Committee (chairman) and an Assistant Treasurer for Orange Park United Methodist Church, and

· Town of Orange Park Florida Planning and Zoning Board (chairman).

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Smithers graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He has lived in Orange Park for almost 50 years.
