Each year the Shepherd’s Center is blessed with new members, returning members, fantastic volunteer teachers and wonderful sponsors. As we celebrate our 25th year in business I want to thank each of you for your participation. Without you, there would not be a Shepherd’s Center (SCOOP). It seems weekly I hear about the issue of “Senior Isolation” and how detrimental it is to our health. Thank you Ridgeview High Schools TV Production Classes

Ridgeview High School’s TV production class filmed our yoga instructor, Ginny Ross yesterday.  Ginny will not be available for the Summer and Fall sessions to teach class, so we wanted a video of her to show to her class.  RHS videographers, Shane and Dalton spent 2+ hours working on the shoot.  We hope to have the DVD soon! ...

Fond Farewell to Founder Dr. Park Gerdine

Dr. Park Gerdine, Founder of The Shepherd’s Center Of Orange Park, died peacefully of pneumonia with his three children by his side in Ashville, NC, on June 25, 2016. He was 93 years old. With Dr. Park’s vision and enthusiasm, his wife, Evelyn’s talents and Keith Clark’s organizational skills, SCOOP was born in April 1993 with 30 members meeting at various churches in the beginning and for more than 20+ years at Orange Park United Methodist Church.
